![]() But since it's not really problem, I don't care Unfortunately I am hitting a wall: the update program claims its its incompatible with my macOS version (10.14.6) and. I attempted to upgrade the firmware, in hope that by some virtue of luck the list of featured changes does not mention HDMI-specific updates. But I've seen that in DPP even with my 50D and 40D before, it must be a DPP flaw. Theres evidence that upgrading the firmware can bring a bunch of nice improvements. I don't see much difference in the character of the noise or the maze pattern at 200-300% level.īy the way that maze pattern does not show up in RAW images opened in CS4. But the fact is, all my shots were exposed a bit brighter compared to their before firmware counterparts. No direct light, only a nice diffuse light, so I don't know how much that would matter. However, my test may be flawed because the light coming through the window might have changed a bit between the two tests. Hence a tiny bit less noise in the shadows. (I deliberately used AV mode and not manual to find out if the automatic exposure changed or not). All my after firmware update shots were exposed a tiny bit brighter than the before shots. Well, not sure if it's worth posting them, but here is my conclusion.
